Violinist Markus Placci has appeared throughout Europe, South America, Asia and the USA in recitals and solo performances with the Barcelona Symphony, the Radio Television Orchestra of Spain (RTVE), the Baden-Baden Philarmonie, the Annapolis Symphony, the Bologna Symphony, Teatro San Carlo of Napoli Symphony, the Haydn Orchester of Bozen, the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic, the Orquesta Teatro Argentino in Buenos Aires, among others.
Winner of the prestigious “Brahms Preis” in Germany, Placci is also the recipient of the “XXVI Vittorio Veneto Competition” in Italy, the “Emanuel Ax-Villecroze Academy Award 2007”, and the “Jules C. Reiner Violin Prize” at Tanglewood.
An avid chamber musician with collaborations with artists such as Gil Shaham, Yo-Yo Ma and Robert Levin, his performances have been broadcast on prominent radio stations such as the BBC Radio.
On the Faculty at The Boston Conservatory since the age of 26, in 2016 Placci was the recipient of the “Outstanding Faulty of the Year” and the MA America Strings Teachers Association “Best Studio Teacher 2016” awards.
